  • Always carry floatant

Midges aren’t known for their buoyancy, they typically sink out of range after just a few casts. A few small daps of floatant on the fly goes a long way.

  • Extend Your Leader

Fish feasting on midges are typically the spookiest and toughest fish to target. Extending your leader helps create a drag free drift and decreases surface disturbance.

  • Watch closely for subtle eats

Midge fishing requires an eagle-eye approach. If you think it got eaten, it likely did, hooksets are free, so don’t hesitate to swing.
